If you are a UX designer looking for internship opportunities, Cofolios is a resource for you! Cofolios is really cool for a number of reason. Let’s look it closely.
What is Cofolios?
Cofolios is a brainchild of Hasque May, currently a Product Design intern at Instagram. It was created to meet a very particular need.
Most companies hiring design interns tell them what they like to see in design portfolios but usually don’t provide examples. Cofolios aims to solve this problem.
Hasque May
As Hasque points out main purpose of Cofolios is to provide examples of design portfolios, a point of reference, that designers applying for intern positions at specific companies can follow:
Cofolios allows you to explore portfolios of interns by company. You can find all the big names there: from Facebook to Twitter to Apple to Microsoft and many more.
Looking at portfolios you can see interns work before, during and after internships. It’s really cool!
Cofolios Features
Design portfolios are at the heart of the Cofolios. However, there are couple additional features that are equally awesome and useful for anyone looking for UX design internship opportunities!
UX Design Job Postings
Cofolios has a section for UX design Jobs.
There are no available jobs at the time of writing (I am writing this just a short week after Facebook, Twitter and host of other big tech companies announced mass layoffs). You can subscribe to be notified for updates.
Case Studies
Every month there are new case studies to look at.
Just like with portfolios, you are sent to the designers website to explore details.
Office Hours
Another nice feature, a way to connect with other interns for a free (?) call. It might be challenging to find the available slot on the calendar, but nevertheless worth a try!
You can also volunteer your time!
I think overall Cofolios is a great resource for interns and up and coming UX designers! The collection of portfolios organized by company is a great resource on its own, and other features are helpful too!
I came across Cofolios as I was doing research for my UX Designer Portfolios article where I covered portfolios of prominent and well established designers. Do check it out as well.
