Meetups are a great way to connect with other UX designers. Two places where you can find local meetups for UX designers are Meetup and Eventbrite.
Meetup is nice as it allows to browse events by topic and all around the globe. There are tons of UX related events there:
- Meetup: UX Design
- Meetup: User Experience
- Meetup: Mobile User Experience
- Meetup: Graphical User Interfaces
- Meetup: User Research
- Meetup: Usability
- Meetup: Product Design
- Meetup: Design Thinking
On Eventbrite you will have to search for events as it seems to allow browsing events only in a specified location.
Search for UX, or Design, or Product Design. If you cannot find any designer specific meetups, it might be worth looking into meetups arranged by your local software development companies. That might be a good way for you to meet people in the industry and possibly connect with them for future job opportunities.
Also there is a number of UX events and conferences happening regularly around the globe:
- IXDA Events Calendar
- UXPA Conferences & Events
- Rosenfeld Events
- Nielsen Norman Group Events
- Find UX Events
- Fluxible – Canada’s UX Festival
