UX Portfolio is run by Michael A. Degtyarev, Canada Texas based senior UX designer and mentor with over 15 years of experience designing for the web and mobile.
Michael is a self-taught designer. He doesn’t have a formal education in design or anything remotely close to it (he majored in computational linguistics). He transitioned into design after working as an interpreter and a QA specialist at the age of 25 (It was back in 2005). Since then he had a successful freelance and corporate career.
He writes about UX design here on UX Portfolio. Some of his writing was published in UX Collective and Harvard Business Review. He also runs a free Substack newsletter on UX design called MAD (about) UX.
